Information for Workshop Leaders
Our workshop buildings offer a charming, yet simple and neutral atmosphere in which a wide variety of gatherings take place — from small personal growth seminars, to movement work or yoga, to large conferences. Our natural, secluded setting and healing springs create an environment that is relaxing, safe and supportive for people involved in a process of self-discovery.
Workshop participants receive extra value, as their class fees include indoor or outdoor camping space and full use of Harbin’s facilities, including pools, hiking trails, guest kitchen use, and even attendance at many special events. Your participants are also welcome to take advantage of our excellent bodywork services, restaurant, cafes and market at additional cost.
We have distinctive, self-contained buildings that can accommodate 15-150 people. Each building has a full kitchen and facilitator bedroom. We rent these buildings on a per-person basis. We can quote exceptionally reasonable rates for midweek workshop rentals.
The Conference Center
This cathedral-like space has a high, arched ceiling and a very large room (40’x65’) that can accommodate 45 to 150 participants. The beautiful wood floor is ideal for dancing and movement; the Conference Center can also be rented with carpeting in sections, as desired. The sound system and lighting are particularly good and flexible. The Conference Center has two outdoor pools, which can be set for different temperatures, making one perfect for Watsu (water massage) and another for social or meditative soaking. The group room in this building is accessible to guests with disabilities. Photos
The Meadow Building
Perfect for groups of 22 to 44. Only a short hike to the pools on Harbin’s mainside, the Meadow Building has decks overlooking Harbin creek. Adjacent is the meadow itself, a beautiful site for camping. All rooms are on one floor, making the flow from kitchen to dining to workshop space (26’x30’) very comfortable. Photos
Outdoor camping is always an option, but participants often appreciate the “indoor camping,” as it fosters a sense of closeness and belonging, and can be supportive of the process of the workshop. We do, of course, have rooms to rent in the Harbin retreat buildings for those who need more private accommodations.
Although our primary function is to simply rent you the space, we do provide some promotional support through our guest e-newsletter and our retreat center website. Food and beverage catering services are available for every size of group and every taste.
