Meet OliviaOlivia O’Bryon Mackey (OM for short!) considers herself to be a hummingbird with multiple passions and plenty of curiosities that all seem to weave themselves back together into building community. She teaches for a K-12 independent study charter school, has a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction, and first began teaching mindfulness to children when she started classroom teaching at an economically disadvantaged school in 2010.
Since then, her mindfulness work has grown to include her own daily practice as well as guiding meditations in community and as a teacher on
Insight Timer. She credits quieting her chronic health challenges to cultivating this ongoing practice. In her study of meditation, Joe Dispenza, Caroline Myss, and Dr. Zach Bush have been her greatest sources of inspiration in using mindfulness to heal at a mind, body, and soul level. She attended her first week-long Dispenza advanced retreat in the summer of 2024 and can’t wait to return.
