About HCC

Heart Consciousness Church is a non-profit religious organization that owns and operates Harbin Hot Springs. It’s not a church in the traditional sense of buildings, congregation, and dogma. Rather, our church is the practical, living embodiment of Oneness. It’s a New Age perspective that weaves together the common threads from the Human Potential Movement, the Natural Holistic Movement, and Universal Spirituality. 
At Harbin we refer to all of this, together, as Heart Consciousness.

Heart Consciousness Church Service
Sundays at 2pm
HCC Saturday Church Service is open to the public and free of charge. Join us each Sunday from 2 to 3pm. Please register at the Reception Office check between 12 to 1:30pm to receive your parking pass. Services are held at the Serenity Chapel at Spa Services. Hosted by Harbin Ministers. All are welcome as we honor and acknowledge the tenets of HCC. Learn more.
H.C.C. Any A Recovery Meeting
Wednesdays, 6-7:30pm
Any A Recovery Meetings are an exploration of spiritual approaches towards Recovery from addiction. Meetings are open to the public and free of charge. We meet in Yurt 20. Please register at the Reception Office between 4:30pm - 5:30pm to receive your parking pass. Through affirmative prayer and meditation we unite to gain knowledge of Divine Will and Empowerment for its fulfillment with grace and ease for our Highest Good. Learn more.

Oneness in Living

The purpose of our Church is to demonstrate and teach the experience and practice of Heart Consciousness. This purpose informs the loving, accepting nature of our retreat center; it’s what helps to create the “Harbin feeling” you can sense throughout our property, and in each of the services and activities we offer. These include: our welcoming of people of all religions and backgrounds; our focus on nature, with thousands of acres of undeveloped land; our Silent Meditation pools, where everyone is encouraged to turn their attention quietly inward; our clothing-optional policy, through which everyone’s essential humanity becomes so apparent; our policies of declining the use of inebriants, and limiting the use of electronics; our focus on presence and self-awareness through massage and other forms of conscious touch; the healthy foods we lovingly prepare and offer; our yoga classes, dances, celebrations, and rituals… All of these are intended to help us all know ourselves more fundamentally, and to more fully experience, embody, and share the Oneness that we all are.

In honor of the 50th Anniversary of Heart Consciousness Church in 2025, HCC Minister and long-time Harbin Quarterly editor, Ann Prehn, created a beautiful 60 page magazine with articles selected from the beloved "Quarterlies" capturing moments in time with bits of history, inspirational characters and a peek inside Harbin life from 1975 through 2025.

Bookstore & Resources

Harbin’s small yet mighty bookstore offers a collection of well curated titles thoughtfully selected by long time Harbin Bookstore manager, Linda. You’ll find beloved classics as well as brand new favorites and hidden gems touching upon the Spiritual, New Age, Human Potential and Ecological realms. The bookstore is located in the Reservations Office. 

Ministry Program

Become an Ordained Heart Consciousness Church Minister

Ordination is an opportunity for church members and staff to explore Heart Consciousness. Led by Head Minister R.Lane Hairston and Spiritual Director Lia Findley Jennings, this is a year long program with classes taught by Harbin Ministers. Classes are for registered participants only. Contact us for information on how to register for the next training at info@harbin.org.

Once held yearly, Heart Consciousness Church’s Ministry Program had been on hold since 2016 after the devastating fire of 2015. The last formal class was a nine month study group which met weekly in 2015, with the ordination taking place shortly after the fire. The year following the fire, a group ordination was held for many of the church members, the "Trial by Fire" group, furthering the deep bond and commitment to Heart Consciousness within our community after such a traumatic experience as the Valley Fire.
The Class of 2026

In 2025, the year-long Ordination Training Program was relaunched. In March of 2026 we celebrated this recent group of graduates with an Ordination Ceremony at the Garden Pavilion.
