Rebuilding Harbin is a chance to use modern efficient building methods and implement alternative energy systems. Almost all of Harbin’s pre-fire buildings were turn of the century historic structures. Like beautiful antiques, the character and charm of the original historic hotel buildings is irreplaceable. We can not replace the past. But we can look forward by rebuilding sustainably.
In the 1990’s, solar was installed at the Harbin Domes to take advantage of Harbin’s abundant sunshine. Now, we work closely with Northern California architect,
Lars Langberg Architects, rebuilding Harbin's facilities using the most appropriate and environmentally friendly materials and building strategies. Harbin has a unique architectural past. At this time in Harbin's long history, we are planning ahead thoughtfully to prioritize a healthy ecosystem for future generations.
