Beltane is halfway between spring equinox and summer solstice. The energy is from the direction of the Southeast. We are shaking off the winter and celebrating the return of heat. Father Sun and Mother Moon marry in an exalted dance of Love for each other and for Community. This is a two day holiday. On April 30 we come together with the May queen, who chooses her consort. On May 1, they return and we dance the maypole symbolizing the union of the divine feminine and the divine masculine.
We will explore the symbols and actions appropriate to this part of the natural cycle, aka the Turn of the Wheel, and our relationship to the element of the moment. We will build the altar for the ceremony at hand. This is a show and tell moment. Please bring items related to this time of year as we acknowledge, participate and experience ourselves arising from the Earth.
