Honoring the Abundance: Wildcrafting with the Harbin Harvesters

There’s a quiet magic in walking the land and recognizing the medicine and nourishment it offers us, naturally, abundantly, and without asking for anything in return. Here at Harbin, that magic is coming alive through the efforts of the Harbin Harvesters, a growing group of herbalists, ministers, and land stewards who are mapping the edible and medicinal plants found throughout our sacred grounds.
Recently, baskets brimmed with ripe, jewel-toned plums as volunteers gently gathered the summer’s gifts. Wide-brimmed hats shaded joyful faces, and the air was rich with the scent of ripening fruit and warm earth. Each hand that reached for a plum did so with gratitude, guided by the principles of respectful harvesting and deep listening to the land.

This initiative isn’t just about foraging, it’s about reconnection. By identifying what grows naturally on the mainside of Harbin, the Harvesters are preserving ancestral wisdom and creating new opportunities for community learning. Together, we’re remembering how to walk gently, harvest mindfully, and cook with heart.
Every Sunday (as scheduled), we invite you to join us on this sacred journey. Whether you’re curious about edible plants, drawn to the healing power of herbs, or simply yearning for a deeper relationship with the land, you’re welcome. We’ll walk together, share herbal knowledge, and cook what we gather, honoring the full cycle of nature’s generosity. This is more than a harvest, it’s a homecoming.

Come wildcraft with us. Sundays at Harbin, schedule to be announced on our website and on social media.
